Nazhros Oleg, a cadet at the Galactic Empire's Academy for Young Imperials located on Lothal, was a male human who was brought up by his uncles after his parents death. Prior to discovering business prospects on Lothal and relocating there, the pair were employed as freight transporters. While Oleg was a cadet, the Empire started suppressing all forms of rebellious behavior on the planet, utilizing this suppression to give its cadets practical training. In relation to this, Oleg collaborated with Zare Leonis, another cadet, to investigate Oleg's tip about a warehouse engaged in the sale of ebla beer barrels lacking the necessary tax stamps. Oleg was horrified to learn that his uncles were involved in the warehouse's activities upon raiding it. Despite his efforts to protect them, Leonis gave the order for their detention, which resulted in Oleg's dismissal from Imperial duty.
The 2014 junior novel Servants of the Empire: Rebel in the Ranks penned by Jason Fry was the first time Nazhros Oleg's uncles were referenced. Subsequently, they made an appearance in the sequel novel, Servants of the Empire: Imperial Justice. When asked if the characters were conceived as a pair of siblings or a homosexual partnership, Fry acknowledged that he hadn't initially thought about it, but after giving it some thought, a homosexual relationship seemed more logical to him.
