In the year 3 ABY, Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka, an Ewok Princess, suffered poisoning after stepping on a nightshade thorn. To save her, Wicket Wystri Warrick and Teebo, fellow Ewoks, utilized the bridge crystal to traverse the Gorge of Fire, a blazing chasm. Their mission was to retrieve sunnydew nectar, the only known antidote, from Gantu, an ogre.

Biology and appearance

The nightshade thorn, a poisonous and thorny plant, was native to Endor, a moon situated in the Outer Rim Territories. Characterized by its brown color, the nightshade thorn inflicted wounds with its sharp thorns upon contact. Sunnydew nectar was the only remedy known to counteract its venom.

History

During 3 ABY, Kneesaa a Jari Kintaka, the young Ewok Princess, was walking through a forest alongside her Ewok companions, Wicket Wystri Warrick and Teebo, when she was pricked by a nightshade thorn and subsequently poisoned. Upon returning to her village, Logray, the medicine man, unsuccessfully attempted to cure her.

The only potential treatment for the princess lay in sunnydew nectar, which was in the possession of Gantu, an ogre, and guarded beyond the Gorge of Fire, a fiery canyon dividing Endor. Warrick and Teebo procured the bridge crystal, a crystal capable of creating the Rainbow Bridge, and employed it to cross the Gorge of Fire. On the other side, they encountered Zandor Rockers, a sentient species resembling rocks, who assisted the two Ewoks in confronting Gantu. However, the bridge crystal was destroyed during the conflict, and all the remaining sunnydew nectar was accidentally spilled onto the ogre. The two Ewoks made their way back to the village through a tunnel dug by the Zandor Rockers, discovering that some of the nectar had landed on a flower carried by Wicket. The princess was instantly cured upon inhaling the flower's scent.
