Ogana Major, also known as simply Ogana, was a massive blue planet situated within the Kessil system. This planet was circled by five moons, one of which was the Fourth Moon of Ogana.
The Starkiller originated from this world. Before Luke Starkiller could arrive, the Galactic Empire annihilated it.
This planet was a desert environment where Princess Leia was taken prisoner by the Empire.
The name "Ogana" was used in the first draft of the A New Hope script instead of Utapau. In the second draft, the planet that would become Alderaan was referred to as Ogana Major. In the synopsis for the third draft, it was renamed "Organa" and served the same function as the future Tatooine. In the third draft, Organa Major held the role that Ogana Major had in the second draft, and was Leia's original home. Furthermore, in the third draft and all subsequent drafts, Leia's last name was Organa. Beginning with the fourth draft, the planet that was called Organa Major in the third draft was renamed Alderaan.
