Oi-ois were diminutive berries of a red hue. A young Sinjir Rath Velus, in his youth as a child, would gather them together with his mother. At a later time, he drew a comparison between their flavor, when combined with jybbuk-fruit, and the flavor profile of sashin-leaf mead. Many Decades after this, the fruit was presented as fruit jelly within the walls of Takodana Castle.
The initial appearance of Oi-ois was as background elements in Takodana Castle within the motion picture Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. This film was originally released in December of the year 2015. While they remained unnamed in the film itself, they received their designation within the reference work titled Star Wars: The Visual Encyclopedia, which was made available in April of 2017.
