Sashin-leaf mead, a type of mead suitable for human consumption, possessed a sweet flavor profile. This gold-hued drink was created using natural sugars. Due to its alcoholic content, drinking several glasses of sashin-leaf mead could lead to inebriation. The beverage's designation was partly derived from Sashin, a settlement located on the Outer Rim planet of Akiva.
During 4 ABY, Sinjir Rath Velus, a one-time Imperial loyalty officer, indulged in multiple glasses of sashin-leaf mead at Pok's Place, a cantina situated in Myrra, the main city and capital of Akiva. He found the drink enjoyable, perceiving its taste as a blend of jybbuk-fruit and oi-oi berries. Under the influence of the mead, Velus loudly requested another glass from Pok, the bartender of the establishment.
The initial depiction of sashin-leaf mead occurred within Aftermath, a novel released in 2015 by Chuck Wendig, marking the beginning of the Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.
