The Old Gather-House, a structure of historical significance, was located in Hanna City, the capital city of the planet Chandrila. Its multi-layered construction, a result of successive waves of settlers making Chandrila their home, presented a complex layout for those traversing its interior. This building stood in proximity to both the Senate Plaza and the Eleutherian Plaza, the latter being the location of the Chandrila Senate house, which served as the meeting place for the Galactic Senate of the New Republic. As the Liberation Day festivities unfolded in 5 ABY, Grand Admiral Rae Sloane, an Imperial emissary, observed the events from one of the building's balconies. Later, during the attack on Chandrila, a surge of civilians, attempting to escape the nearby conflict, flooded the Old Gather-House. It was during her escape from this building that Sloane engaged in combat with Norra Wexley, a pilot of the New Republic.
