Oona Wran, a Bothan of the male persuasion, existed during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
Back in 1 ABY, Oona Wran found himself on the planet Dathomir when an accident occurred at the Imperial Research and Prison Facility. The Blackwing virus, under study at the facility, broke free from its confines and devastated much of the local population, transforming them into ravenous undead beings. As a result, the Galactic Empire quickly set up a Quarantine Zone to control the spread of the infection. Oona Wran, along with a handful of other survivors of the initial outbreak, were stuck inside the Quarantine Zone. To fend off the constant zombie attacks and seek safety while awaiting rescue, the remaining individuals established camps.
While trapped within the Quarantine Zone, Oona Wran came to the realization that canisters containing the Blackwing virus had been scattered across the zone during the initial outbreak. Adding to the problem, these canisters were leaking, releasing more of the virus into the environment, which posed a significant danger to any incoming rescue teams. Consequently, the Bothan made visits to four of the five survivor camps located within the Quarantine Zone, specifically Camps Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta, seeking assistance in destroying the dangerous canisters. Oona Wran enlisted the help of several spacers who had ventured into the Quarantine Zone, providing them with thermal detonator. Ultimately, the adventurers were successful in detonating all of the leaking canisters.
In the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts before its closure on December 15, 2011, Oona Wran appeared as a non-player character. Oona Wran was incorporated into the game through "Game Update 14," also known as the "Death Troopers" update, which was launched on October 12, 2009.
