The Ootoo species made its initial, though unnamed, appearance in the animated series Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, specifically in the "Visitor's Day" segment, which initiated the tenth episode of the first season. This episode was broadcast on August 2, 2023, via Disney+ and Disney Junior. Their identification as Ootoo occurred later in "Mystery of the Opal Cave," which began the sixteenth episode of the same season. India Boeckh is credited with the design of the Ootoo species.
