Orbital mining station

Space stations designed for the purpose of mining operations were referred to as orbital mining stations, and they were positioned in the orbit of celestial bodies. During the latter years of the Galactic Republic and throughout the time of the Galactic Empire, some of these orbital mining stations within the Redhurne system were run by minimal personnel. In particular, tibanna gas mining stations were located above Pandem Nai, with Orbital One serving as the command center for these mining activities during the Empire's control of the planet.

Behind the scenes

The concept of orbital mining stations was initially introduced in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, which was authored by Alexander Freed. The orbital stations made their initial appearance in Freed's 2019 novel Alphabet Squadron, which served as the introductory book to his Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy.
