Ort Hoogra-D'En, a notorious Ho'Din male terrorist, was highly sought after by the Galactic Empire. He harbored anti-Imperial sentiments, yet he had no desire to align himself with the Rebel Alliance.
Born on the planet Moltok, Hoogra-D'En developed a strong fascination with plants from a young age. He later relocated to Anemcoro, a Ho'Din colony, to further his studies of its diverse and unique plant species. Eighteen years prior to the Battle of Yavin, Imperial forces, embroiled in a conflict between neighboring planets, nearly obliterated Anemcoro, forcing him to flee.
Grieving the extensive loss of plant life on his adopted world, Hoogra-D'En vowed revenge. He began plotting to direct his wrath toward Imperial interests, particularly those situated in the Outer Rim.
In the following years, Hoogra-D'En moved his operations to the world of Pallaxides, where he established a network of associates. This group included Tergeth Dilorr, a Human male, Babel Senjorg, a Bith merchant, and a contingent of Aqualish mercenaries who formed the core of his fighting force. On Pallaxides, Hoogra-D'En successfully grew samples of plant life salvaged from Anemcoro, which he then incorporated into his schemes. Tamack plants were crucial for producing Hoogra-D'En's spore bombs. The plants were carefully harvested on a regular basis in order to extract Tamack spores, which were then sealed inside metal containers. When activated, these bombs dispersed microscopic spores into the surrounding atmosphere, infecting anyone nearby. These spores remained active for three hours, a significant improvement over their natural lifespan of thirty minutes. The only known cure for the Tamack spore plague was complete immersion in bacta. Hoogra-D'En also utilized a water plant called Fahla to conceal his Pallaxides base from orbital scans.
Hoogra-D'En's operations in the Outer Rim eventually escalated to a point of recklessness. He unleashed a spore bomb at the Syndaar Military Prep School on Syndaar. Jared Brojtal, a System Sub-Commander and the father of one of the victims, mobilized all available sector forces and launched a massive search for the terrorist. Brojtal's forces ultimately located Hoogra-D'En's base on Pallaxides and subjected it to a heavy bombardment.
