Outpost GRF-7493

This particular outpost was rapidly established during the Empire Day celebrations that took place in 1 ABY. It was specifically during this Empire Day that the outpost became occupied by an Imperial commander, Darth Vader, and various other Imperial troopers. A Jedi prisoner who was captured was kept at the outpost for the purpose of interrogation, and presumably execution.

After the Empire Day festivities concluded, Vader departed from the outpost to attend to other matters. The outpost continued to exist as a relatively insignificant Imperial presence on the planet, but it was largely left unused. Nevertheless, an Imperial recruiter, a number of Novatroopers, and a few All Terrain Scout Transports continued to patrol the area around the facility.

Outpost GRF-7493 appeared as a location within the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, which was a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and distributed by LucasArts, before the game's servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. The addition of Outpost GRF-7493 to the game occurred with the release of "Publish 19," which was deployed on June 29, 2005. During the Empire Day live event that was held from June 29 to July 11, 2005, Imperial players were required to visit this location in order to complete a quest entitled "Happy Empire Day!." Following the conclusion of the live event, the outpost remained in the game, but it no longer served any practical purpose because the Empire Day event was discontinued until it received a complete overhaul in 2008.
