This iteration of the overseer droid represented an improved supervisor droid, crafted by the artificial intelligence division under the direction of Doctor Gubacher. These droids had the purpose of monitoring the workforce engaged in constructing the Death Star battle station on behalf of the Republic Special Weapons Group. Dagio Belcoze, an Iktotchi computer engineer, contributed to the design of these droids as a member of the design group.
