A pachyderm or pachydermoid was a category of species that, while unrelated and originating from different planets, possessed similar physical attributes. These creatures commonly featured either trunks or extended mouths, along with thick hides and feet resembling hooves. The presence of tusks or tusk-like teeth was another frequent characteristic, although not universally present.
Both sentient and non-sentient pachydermoid species were known to exist.
