Pammant Docks, alternatively called the Pammant Shipyards, functioned as a shipbuilding firm that once maintained a collaborative relationship with the Quarren's Free Dac Volunteers Engineering Corps. During the period of the Clone Wars, Pammant Docks sided with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, with Tikkes, a Quarren representative, acting on their behalf.
Initially, the Confederacy navy consisted largely of heavily-armed bulk transports contributed by corporations within the CIS. However, Pammant Docks, along with other allied entities, began constructing capital ships to establish a more formidable navy for the Separatist cause; an example of this is the Subjugator-class heavy cruiser. These newly-built starships were manned by B1-series battle droids and carried a diverse range of starfighters. The Quarren at Pammant Docks, being Separatist allies, facilitated the rapid production of a significant quantity of starships for the Separatists. Following an attack on the Imperial installation Sentinel Base by a warship that had been assembled from decommissioned Confederacy of Independent Systems vessels, the Galactic Empire initiated an investigation to determine if Pammant Docks or the volunteers had any involvement in the warship's construction.
The initial mention of Pammant Docks in the new Star Wars canon occurred within Tarkin, a 2014 novel penned by James Luceno and released by Del Rey. Its original appearance within Star Wars Legends continuity was in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross-Sections, a reference work from 2005 authored by Curtis Saxton and published by Dorling Kindersley as a part of the Incredible Cross-Sections series.
