Berch Teller's warship

Berch Teller's warship was a Providence-class Dreadnought that had been modified. It was built and utilized by a rebel cell in the period five years following the Galactic Empire's establishment. Because the starship was not created by a major shipbuilding corporation, it possessed neither a formal designation nor a registered transponder code.

Characteristics

The warship, a capital ship lacking both a registered signature and a name, represented a scaled-down version of a Providence-class Dreadnought formerly used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, notorious for disrupting communications and destroying HoloNet hubs during the Clone Wars. It had been modified with components sourced from various Separatist frigates and destroyers. Its appearance most closely resembled a Providence-class carrier from the Quarren Free Dac Volunteer Corps's.

The ship's sensor array tower, which was mounted at the front, had originally been part of the cruiser Lucid Voice. Furthermore, its modules were once part of Admiral Trench's Invincible, salvaged and sold after the Battle of Christophsis. Equipped with turbolasers and ion cannons, its weaponry was controlled by computer-operated droids, thanks to the installation of a basic droid-control system similar to those found on Lucrehulk-class Battleship belonging to the Trade Federation. Consequently, a crew of only thirty sentients was sufficient to operate it, and it could launch Vulture-class starfighters in combat.

History

The warship was pieced together at shipyards in the Bajic sector. These shipyards were jointly owned and run by the Tenloss Syndicate and lower-ranking members of the Crymorah Syndicate. The construction involved an assortment of modules, components, turbolasers, and ion cannons that its builders had obtained from Imperial surplus depots, deep-space scavengers, smugglers, and other entities involved in the trade of stolen parts and illicit weaponry.

In 14 BBY, Berch Teller's rebel cell employed it to execute an attack on Sentinel Base during Moff Wilhuff Tarkin's presence there. After Teller and his team abandoned Tarkin's corvette, the Carrion Spike, over Carida, they utilized the warship weeks afterward while awaiting updates from the Carrion Spike's mission through the Gulf of Tatooine.
