The Panacea, a Republic medical frigate of the Salvation-class, holds the distinction of being among the first Great Works initiated by Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh in the High Republic Era. This ship, designed to provide medical assistance for the Galactic Republic, was deployed to numerous areas affected by conflict and catastrophe in the years after its construction. In the wake of the Great Hyperspace Disaster, the Panacea became a sanctuary, offering shelter and medical care to those who survived the destruction of the Legacy Run. A number of Jedi who had played a crucial role in the rescue of survivors from the Legacy Run's debris welcomed them as they boarded the Panacea.
