Panna Prime, also known as the Mud Moon of Panna, and also as the red-water moon, was a satellite that revolved around the planet Panna along with a pair of other moons, all located within the Panna system.
A frigid ocean of mud covered the entirety of this moon, and within it lived a multitude of diverse creatures. The moon was inhabited, possessing at least one urban center that accommodated a variety of alien lifeforms. During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire maintained a presence on this moon.
During 0 ABY, Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca made an emergency landing of the Millennium Falcon while transporting a sick Han Solo to the moon. While Luke was searching for the crew in his Y-wing, R2-D2 and C-3PO met Boba Fett in the vicinity of Panna City. Initially, Fett seemed to be an ally, assisting the droids in finding a treatment for Solo's ailment, which Skywalker had also caught. However, Luke and R2 eventually discovered that Fett's true purpose was to pinpoint the location of the Rebel base for Darth Vader. After his real intentions were exposed, Fett made his escape using his rocket pack.
The moon's residents were particularly known for their distinctive hotcakes, simply referred to as Panna cakes. This dish was popular enough that it was exported off-world and served at places such as Dex's Diner on Coruscant.
