Pex was a Human of male gender who worked as a public relations officer for the Galactic Empire during the era of the Galactic Civil War.
At the time of the Battle of Yavin, Pex, holding the rank of Commander, was the Galactic Empire's Chief Public Relations Officer. During the Empire Day celebrations in 1 ABY, he was staying in a hotel within the city of Nashal located on Talus. While there, he tasked an Imperial spacer with visiting an Imperial garrison historian stationed on Rori, with the goal of gathering information for a report he was preparing. This task ultimately led the spacer to encounter Darth Vader at Outpost GRF-7493 on Yavin 4.
A character described as an "Imperial PR officer" made an appearance as a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This massively multiplayer online roleplaying game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, before the game's servers were shut down on December 15, 2011. This Imperial PR officer was introduced to the game with the "Publish 19" update, released on June 29, 2005. He was present in Nashal during the Empire Day live event held from June 29 to July 11, 2005, where he initiated a quest called "Happy Empire Day!," sending players on a significant mission across the galaxy. The official Star Wars Galaxies website featured an article titled "Friday Feature - Empire Day" which served to introduce the Empire Day live event to the game's players and explicitly identified the "Imperial PR officer" within the game as "Chief Public Relations Officer Commander Pex". After the conclusion of the live event, Pex was not seen again in the game, as the Empire Day event was removed until it received a complete rework in 2008.
