Pieto was an inhabitant of the Peka settlement located on the planet of Batuu. Circa 379 BBY, during Jedi Master Silandra Sho's visit to Peka, Pieto informed her of a salmaca that had been pillaging the villagers' residences during nighttime hours, collecting treasures to furnish its dwelling. Sho then scrutinized the salmaca's footprints and went back to the Batuu Jedi temple. The following day, Rooper Nitani, Sho's Padawan, made his way to Peka and had a discussion with Jerlyn, a different resident of the village. While elucidating the village's predicament with the salmaca to Jerlyn, he recounted to Nitani the dialogue her Master had with Pieto the previous evening.
Pieto's name appeared in the short story entitled "Shield of the Jedi," penned by George Mann and featured in the 2023 young-adult collection titled The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life as a component of the larger Star Wars: The High Republic transmedia endeavor.
