Planet of Kadril

On the world of Kadril, Kunda stones are cultivated and harvested; these stones are crucial in the construction of lightsabers, various medical instruments, and comlinks. Shortly after the Death Star's demise, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, captain Han Solo, and Chewbacca journeyed to Kadril. Their mission: to negotiate a trade agreement between the Kadrillians and the Rebel Alliance. Unbeknownst to the Rebels, the Sith Lord Darth Vader had also arrived, seeking to acquire Kunda stones for himself. Vader had invented pacifog, a chemical that amplifies the weaknesses of its victims, but proves lethal to humans, dissolving their flesh into a frothy substance. He intended to use the Kunda stones as filters in the masks of stormtroopers to protect them from the pacifog.

Vader deployed the gas on Lon Prador, Kadril's Lord Councilor, manipulating him into ordering the Kadrillians to gather all the Kunda stones. The largest concentration of stones resided in the hills inhabited by the Nocivs, an anti-technology group of Kadrillians. Deerna, engaged to young Rodno, who assisted Dal Quirz, Kadril's leading scientist, was visiting the Nocivs. Quirz managed the Zero-G lab, where flawless Kunda stones were grown. Concerned for Deerna and aware that the Nocivs would defy Prador's command, risking conflict with Imperial forces, Rodno persuaded Solo and Skywalker to accompany him to the Nocivs' settlement. Upon arrival, after meeting with Mdel, the village elder, the Rebels were ambushed by stormtroopers, resulting in Mdel's death.

Meanwhile, back at the Zero-G lab, Princess Leia and Chewbacca decided to utilize a small repair pod to disable an orbiting relay satellite, aiming to disrupt Imperial communications. Due to Chewbacca's size, Leia piloted the pod alone.

As Mdel's funeral commenced, stormtroopers invaded the Zero-G lab, capturing Leia and Chewbacca. Vader instructed the troopers to spare Leia but to treat the Wookiee as they pleased. However, when Chewbacca was exposed to the gas, it only caused him to sneeze and become enraged. During the subsequent skirmish between Chewbacca and the troopers, Princess Leia activated a Vibro-Crystal, a device created by Rodno, which shattered the Kunda stones within the stormtroopers' filters. Leia promptly informed Luke about the invention, before she and Chewbacca hijacked the troopers' shuttle.

Imperial forces pursued Leia and Chewbacca to the Nociv village, where they barely managed to deliver the Vibro-Crystal before being attacked. Employing the Vibro-Crystal, the Rebels and their new allies triumphed over the Imperials. Leia then transported the Vibro-Crystal to Vader's headquarters, obliterating all Kunda stones in the vicinity. Realizing that complete pacification of Kadril was now impossible due to this new weapon, Vader ordered a complete evacuation of his troops.
