Portin functioned as a member of the Cavrilhu Pirates, answering to the pirate captain Zothip.
Under Zothip's leadership, Portin, along with Crans, Grinner, Control, and Zothip himself, infiltrated the living space of Moff Disra on Bastion, the Imperial Capital. Unbeknownst to Portin and the others, they were being tracked by Karoly D'ulin, a Mystryl Shadow Guard. Karoly then assassinated Zothip inside Disra's quarters. Following Zothip's demise, Control assumed the role of leader of the Cavrilhu Pirates.
