Profit (Lucrehulk-class battleship)

The Profit was a Lucrehulk-type battleship under the command of Dool Pundar. During the Naboo Invasion, the Neimoidian commander deserted his post with the vessel, continuing to use it throughout the duration of the Clone Wars. Following an onboard crash involving a Jedi, it was left derelict.

Characteristics

Dool Pundar's Lucrehulk pirate vessel was a modified transport ship. It incorporated a central sphere and a pair of cargo-carrying arms. This starship had a circular shape, with its arms ending in a crescent form. The ship was propelled through hyperspace by three thrusters. Like other ships of the same class built by Hoersch-Kessel Drive, Inc., its diameter measured 3,170 meters. Escape pods were included on the warship, and turreted weapons were positioned on the upper section of its right arm. Its complement consisted of B1 battle droids and around 100 Vulture-class droid fighters.

History

The pirate ship capturing Noggox's freighter.

Before Dool Pundar hijacked it with several accomplices, using reprogrammed battle droids to jettison their fellow crew members into space, the Profit was part of the Trade Federation's Defense Fleet during the Blockade of Naboo.

Pundar became a privateer, using the Profit as his base of operations. Despite the pursuit of both Republic and Trade Federation forces, the vessel eluded capture and eventually built a small fleet of smaller capital ships.

Several years afterward, during the Clone Wars, Pundar and his battleship seized a freighter, which was the property of Noggox the Hutt. Pundar permitted the crew to leave, and he and his Lucrehulk departed the area. Subsequently, Pundar established a presence in the Fondor Shipyards at the request of Count Dooku, a former Jedi who now led the Separatist Alliance. Pundar's objective was to capture Noggox's remaining freighter, which was transporting droid brains for the Galactic Republic. As the freighter arrived, Pundar dispatched twelve of his Vulture starfighters to engage. However, the freighter was escorted by a Jedi, and Nuru Kungurama managed to maneuver the freighter into a crash landing inside one of the Lucrehulk's cargo arms. Upon being informed of the infiltration by a Neimoidian pirate, Pundar ordered the ship to be abandoned. The Fondor Space Patrol then took control of the pirate ship.

Behind the scenes

The Lucrehulk-type pirate ship was initially referenced in a Wizards.com article tied to a bounty story, Dool Pundar: Pirate Lord. Later, the ship was featured in the The Clone Wars: Strange Allies comic from 2011.
