Prot Xan was an Amani individual, specifically a male, who held membership within the Galactic Agricultural Alliance during the period known as the High Republic Era. This Amani was among a group of 106 scientists present at the yearly gathering of the Agricultural Alliance, which took place on the Starlight Beacon space station. On the initial day of this meeting, the scientist engaged in a physical altercation with Yomo Vrex, an Ithorian who was a fellow scientist and a long-time acquaintance of Xan's. Vrex made an aggressive move toward the Amani, resulting in Xan using their tail to strike Vrex. As onlookers started to assemble around the developing conflict, Chief [Ghal Tarpfen](/article/ghal_tarpfen], the head of security for the station, along with Administrator Velko Jahen, hurried to break up the fight, with Tarpfen using a stun weapon on both individuals. Despite the disapproval of the Alliance's president, Sh'nar Qwasba, the two scientists were slated for transfer to the medcenter located within the station.
