Master Jaing and Durge find themselves under assault from a Cyborg guard creature at a medical center to which they've been summoned. They subdue the creature, opting not to kill it. Upon entering the facility, they engage in conversation with a doctor concerning a surgical procedure they are about to undergo. While both individuals successfully endured their respective procedures, Durge persistently attempted to self-heal during his. Subsequently, their training commences, involving combat with another being who has undergone cybernetic augmentation. Following this, the doctor proposes that, as compensation, they must shield him from a contingent of Mandalorians, who owe their allegiance to Ung Kusp and were employed by an individual from whom he pilfered an item. Immediately following this revelation, the Mandalorians forcibly enter the premises, leading to a substantial altercation. They are repelled, and then launch a thermal detonator, inflicting grave injuries upon both Jaing and Durge. They nearly succeed in seizing the object—a Sith artifact—but Durge intervenes. The doctor predicts the mercenaries' return to claim the artifact, prompting Durge to confront the Mandalore. The doctor then reveals to Jaing that their combined actions have initiated the groundwork for a conflict between the Sith and the Mandalorians.
