The Quess sector, situated in the Mid Rim, encompassed the Old Mankoo, Sayblohn, Tendo, and Trevi systems, alongside a number of hyperlanes. It was home to the planets Old Mankoo, Sayblohn, and Trevi IV, in addition to several worlds within the Tendo system, where the murderer known as Stalnus operated a network of contacts.
By 23 BBY, the royal family of Old Mankoo, an impoverished planet, had been overthrown. Trevi IV, conversely, was a [trade](/article/merchant/legends] hub settled initially by Truishii traders at least two decades prior to the Galactic Civil War. This latter world boasted a population of thirty-five million beings across diverse species. During the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire maintained only a minimal presence within the Trevi system, while also occupying Sayblohn, whose [badlands](/article/desert/legends] concealed a hidden pirate base.
Found in the Trailing Sectors area of the Mid Rim, was the Quess sector. By the time of 0 ABY, it shared borders with the Mulgard sector towards the Coreward direction, the Chommell and Vish sectors spinward, and the Dustig sector in the trailing direction. [Rimward](/article/outer_rim_territories-legends], it neighbored the Alui sector and also formed a part of the boundary between the Mid Rim and the Outer Rim Territories' Grumani sector.
The Old Mankoo and Sayblohn systems were situated in the Quess sector's northernmost reaches, while the Trevi system resided in the more southern part. The Tendo system was also included in the sector. The Trevi system was positioned along several hyperlanes utilized for interstellar commerce.
The planet Trevi IV was located within the Trevi system. The Old Mankoo and Sayblohn systems, on the other hand, were home to the worlds of Old Mankoo and Sayblohn, respectively. Furthermore, the Tendo system contained several planets. Old Mankoo, an impoverished world whose royal family had been overthrown by 23 BBY, was the original homeworld of the Human Princess Tsian, who eventually departed for the larger galaxy. By 7 ABY, the Riorian murderer known as Stalnus was a frequent visitor to the planets of the Tendo system, where he maintained a network of contacts.

Trevi IV presented as a dry world characterized by barren plains, [deserts](/article/desert-legends], plateaus, and urbanized areas. At one point, a caravan of Truishii traders encountered a hyperspace accident while passing through the Trevi system, leading to a Truishii starship landing on Trevi IV for repairs. These traders then decided to establish a colony on the planet, which quickly evolved into a spaceport settlement known as Trevi City.
In time, Trevi IV transformed into a trade world populated by thirty-five million sentient beings representing numerous [species](/article/species-legends], including Humans and [aliens](/article/alien-legends] from thousands of different worlds. The inhabitants of Trevi IV imported [foodstuffs](/article/foodstuff-legends] and medical supplies while exporting luxury goods and technology to the wider galaxy. A little over twenty years before the [Galactic Civil War](/article/galactic_civil_war-legends], the Bith entrepreneur Fiz Cor'gril also made his way to the planet, establishing a used starship dealership called Fizzi's Slightly Used Starships in Trevi City. During the Galactic Civil War, the Galactic Empire's minimal presence in the Trevi star system and on Trevi IV was a small outpost situated just outside Trevi City.
Sayblohn, a world whose badlands concealed a pirate base, was under Imperial occupation during the Galactic Civil War. At some stage during that conflict, a special operative team from the Rebel Alliance journeyed to Sayblohn to recover a stolen art object of great religious significance to the Okfili species. On the planet, the operatives successfully retrieved the artifact from the local pirate group and smuggled it aboard their starship without attracting the attention of the Empire.
The Quess sector was first established in "Fizzi's Slightly Used Starships," a source article for a roleplaying game authored by John J. Richardson III and featured in the ninth issue of Star Wars Adventure Journal from West End Games in February of 1996. In 2012, the sector was visually represented on a map created by Modi, which was published in "Essential Atlas Extra: Sectors of the Mid Rim," a component of the StarWars.com Online Companion for the 2009 reference book titled The Essential Atlas.
