R1-D1, an astromech droid of Lothal origin, was a masculine unit owned by an Ugnaught salesman. This occurred some years prior to the Battle of Yavin. While on Lothal, the droid and its salesman master found themselves facing Imperial stormtroopers in a street encounter. However, Garazeb Orrelios from the Spectres intervened, saving them from the Imperials.
