The twenty-third episode of Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures, entitled "R2-D2 - A Pilot's Best Friend," was initially released on April 12, 2019 via the StarWarsKids.com website.
This episode begins by depicting Rebel Alliance pilots and their respective astromech droids hurrying to their starfighters inside of a hangar. The narrator states that within a "galaxy of adventures," pilots are always able to depend on their reliable astromech counterparts.
R2-D2 says hello to Luke Skywalker before being placed into the astromech socket of Luke's T-65B X-wing starfighter. Other rebel pilots, accompanied by their astromech droids, board their respective vessels. Luke and R2-D2 then pilot their starfighters through a hyperspace tunnel, emerging amidst an ongoing space conflict.
As the battle unfolds, Luke's X-wing's laser cannons cease to function. Luke asks R2-D2 to investigate the problem. R2-D2 then goes inside the X-wing and fixes the ship's internal circuits and systems. With his cannons now operational, Skywalker successfully targets and eliminates multiple TIE fighters.
