Communication clones were Clone troopers assigned to platoons and tasked with managing communications.
History
"Chatter" and "Hamm" are the names of communication clones who fought in the Second Battle of Geonosis.
Equipment
Communication clones utilized a radio box backpack for communication purposes. This backpack included a microphone and a hand crank for power. Additionally, their helmets featured retractable antennas located on the helmet bumps.
Behind the scenes
The original plan was for communication clones to feature in the Clone Wars episode Landing at Point Rain, but this idea was abandoned. George Lucas explained that the concept was unnecessary, given that many characters already had communication devices like comlinks.
