During the time of the Galactic Civil War, a group of rebels launched a raid on the Galactic Empire's Imperial Refining Platform M36. With the assistance of Luke Skywalker, the rebels successfully eliminated the KX-series security droids present at the platform, thus ensuring they obtained its fuel resources. As the rebels made their exit using the Imperial Support Vessel designated 49AX3, an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer appeared at the site, launching TIE/ln space superiority starfighter. In the ensuing conflict, Darth Sidious tried to use a Force vision to influence Skywalker, with the intention of turning him against the rebel alliance. Skywalker successfully fought off this manipulation, and aided the team's major in diverting the attention of the Imperial fighters using a shuttle, which allowed the rest of the crew on the vessel to get away.
