Raid on Spearhead

The culminating and most significant engagement where the united Gungan tribes launched an assault that resulted in the complete destruction of Boss Rogoe's urban center, known as Spearhead, was the Raid on Spearhead.

Lead-up

Boss Gallo brought unification to the tribes in order to stand against Rogoe, subsequently preparing a large scale offensive targeted at Rogoe's fortified city of Spearhead. Marsune established communication with the Bongomeken Collective and arranged for them to construct a substantial naval fleet on Gallo's behalf. Following this acquisition, the assault on Spearhead was initiated. Gallo's military also formed an alliance with a bursa tribe.

The Battle

At the gates of Spearhead, Gallo commanded his militiagungs in a violent confrontation against Rogoe's defending forces. After forcing his way through, suffering substantial casualties along the way, he reached Rogoe's keep, which he then demolished, seizing control of the territory of Spearhead.

Aftermath

Subsequently, Gallo renamed the city to Otoh Gunga, establishing it as a symbol of peace, rather than conflict.

Behind the scenes

The Spearhead Battle is featured in the third mission of the Gungan storyline within the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds and its 2002 expansion, Clone Campaigns. The strategy guide for the game details the battle's layout and proposes strategies for overcoming Spearhead's defenses. Players have the option to assist a bursa tribe; this document assumes that the player chose to do so.
