Raid on the Solleu River

During the Naboo Invasion, a coalition primarily composed of Naboo citizens united to assault the Trade Federation's prison facilities situated along the Solleu River. This alliance included Rescue Flight, personnel from Bravo Squadron, and the Toydarian named Reti. Upon reaching the prison locations, Reti, along with the Bravo aviators, engaged the Trade Federation's defensive systems in the vicinity, successfully demolishing a shield barrier positioned on the river. Consequently, Rescue Flight was able to extract the captives from the camps and navigate downriver toward a nearby ocean. The pilots continued their protective duties, shielding the Rescue Vessels from Federation backup forces as they made their way to the Europa Islands for a rendezvous with the transport ship named Mercatan. Ultimately, the Naboo forces achieved their objective, enabling the Mercatan to depart with the newly liberated prisoners.

Prelude

In the year 32 BBY, the Trade Federation initiated an invasion of the planetary body Naboo. As a result of their occupation, the Federation systematically gathered the local population and confined them within prison encampments. One such encampment was established on islets situated near a cascade along the Solleu River. This particular camp was designated as the target for liberation. A strategy was formulated wherein Rescue Flight, under the command of Rescue Leader, would utilize Rescue Craft to retrieve the imprisoned individuals and transport them to the transport vessel Mercatan. Rhys Dallows, identified as Bravo Ten, was tasked with leading Bravos Eight and Twelve, along with his associate Reti, to supply aerial cover.

Rescue

The rescue team approached the prison camps by way of a cavern that led to the base of the waterfall. Rhys and the other pilots were the first to emerge from behind the waterfall and were immediately engaged by automated turrets. Rhys instructed the Rescue Boats to remain at a distance while the rest of them eliminated the droids. Once a sufficient number of Federation defenses had been neutralized, Rescue Leader gave the order for Rescue Flight to collect the prisoners from the camps. The Bravo pilots defended the Boats from patrols of STAPs and Patrol Craft, and also destroyed a shielding gate that was obstructing Rescue Flight's path of escape. As the Rescue Boats completed their operations at the prison camps, the pilots cleared out turret droids in the valley between the camps and a nearby sea to ensure the boats' safety.

Around the time Rescue Flight began moving downstream, droid fighters and a landing craft dispatched by the Trade Federation arrived in the area and headed for the mouth of the river. Bravo Flight engaged the Federation craft and was able to destroy the dropship before it could deploy any tanks. The Bravo pilots continued to fight with the droid starfighters until all of the droids were defeated. When the Rescue Boats reached the sea, they came under attack from additional Patrol Boats along with a wave of Trade Federation droid bombers. Bravo Flight was able to destroy the new attackers. As Rescue Flight approached the Europa Islands, more bombers and Patrol Boats approached to attack both Rescue Flight and the Mercatan. The pilots fended off the last attack, allowing all the civilians from all three Rescue Boats to be moved to the freighter. Mercatan then took off under escort from Bravo Flight.

Behind the scenes

The Raid on the Solleu River serves as the core narrative for "Rescue on the Solleu," which is the twelfth stage in the Star Wars: Starfighter video game. In this particular level, the player assumes the character of Rhys Dallows. Achieving the destruction of the dropship before it lands and eliminating all turret droids and bombers are designated as bonus objectives, and their completion is not mandatory for story progression. This particular write-up assumes 100% objective completion. The mission results in failure if any of the Rescue Boats are destroyed.
