The assault on Todirium was an operation executed by Wraith Squadron during the New Republic's fight against Warlord Zsinj. To provoke the Warlord, the Wraiths, while pretending to be Rogue Squadron, obliterated the factories on the planet that supplied Zsinj with resources. This strategy proved effective; Zsinj subsequently planned a trap for the renowned unit, only to see his own forces suffer defeat in the Battle of Ession.
Following their escape from the Battle of Folor, Wraith Squadron was forced out of hyperspace by Empion mines deployed by the Night Caller, a vessel aligned with Warlord Zsinj. When the Night Caller entered the system to search for survivors, the Wraiths, employing unconventional methods, successfully seized control of the ship. The swiftness of the capture prevented the crew from transmitting a distress signal, leaving Zsinj's forces unaware of the ship's fate. Acting independently, Antilles devised a scheme for the Wraiths to impersonate the crew, follow the ship's original orders, and hopefully entice Zsinj into a trap. During each stop, they discovered that Zsinj was establishing businesses on various worlds to finance his operations. Subsequently, the Wraiths initiated the destruction of these businesses, aiming to create the impression that the ship was under surveillance.
Wedge Antilles instructed Cubber Daine, the squadron's mechanic, to repaint their X-wing's with the colors of Rogue Squadron. This was done so that the spy satellites they left behind, disguised as the Night Caller, would record the raid as being executed by the celebrated New Republic squadron.
During the raid, they openly transmitted messages and utilized Rogue call signs to reinforce the deception. They encountered only slight resistance from the planet's forces, which consisted of Ultra-Light Assault Vehicles. They easily defeated the ULAVs and successfully destroyed the factories without suffering any casualties.
The raid's success extended beyond its immediate objectives, as Warlord Zsinj took note of the attack. He contacted Zurel Darillian, the captain of the Night Caller, who was being impersonated by Garik Loran, to develop a plan to ambush Rogue Squadron. Through some quick thinking from Loran, he successfully persuaded Zsinj to commit more of his forces to the plan. The trap ultimately resulted in a New Republic victory at the Battle of Ession.
Despite the appearance that Rogue Squadron carried out the mission, Antilles assured his squadron that they would receive official credit in the records once their mission concluded and the files were declassified.
