The Ewok species utilized Raventhorn root, a kind of root, as an ingredient in their culinary practices. Specifically, during a harsh winter period on Endor's forest moon, the Ewoks residing in Bright Tree Village trapped a kublag and prepared it as a stew, using raventhorn root, along with ground-apple stock, to enrich its consistency. Even with these additions, the resulting stew proved insufficient to satiate the hunger of all members of the Bright Tree tribe.
The short story "The Kroolok," penned by Cavan Scott and George Mann, featured raventhorn root; this story is considered canon and was included in the Life Day Treasury anthology released in 2021. Within the now non-canon Star Wars Legends timeline, the raventhorn plant was a plant that could be located on Endor in the 2003 massively-multiplayer online roleplaying game, Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided.
