Razell Tameron

A Human individual, identified as Razell Tameron, hailed from the planet of Bespin. As a male, he became a member of the Bespin Wing Guard during the period known as the Galactic Civil War. His duties included serving as the warden for the Wing Guard's primary facility, the Cloud City Security Tower, located within Cloud City. When the forces of the Galactic Empire descended upon Bespin with the goal of capturing a group of Rebels en route to the planet, Tameron was among those in the Wing Guard who played a role in helping the Rebels to evade Imperial capture after their initial apprehension.

Biography

Razell Tameron, a Human male, was born on the planet of Bespin. By the time the Galactic Civil War erupted between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic, he had joined the ranks of the Bespin Wing Guard. During this conflict, he held the position of Warden at the Cloud City Security Tower, which served as the Wing Guard's main base and detention facility on Bespin. In the year 3 ABY, Imperial forces, under the command of the Sith Lord Darth Vader, arrived in Cloud City. They struck a deal with the Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian: the city would remain free and neutral if it cooperated with the Empire in capturing a group of Rebels who were heading to Bespin. After their arrival, the Rebels were successfully captured; however, after Vader altered the terms of the agreement, Calrissian had a change of heart and decided to oppose the Empire.

Calrissian made secret contact with his chief administrative aide, Lobot, sending the message "Code Force Seven." This was a signal for Lobot to assemble a dozen Wing guardsmen, including Tameron, Corman Jeihn, Pedar Solardo, Gir Endac, Bialar Selis, and Helder Spinoza. These guardsmen then ambushed an Imperial unit led by Lieutenant Sheckil, who were escorting Calrissian and transporting three of the captured Rebels to Vader's personal shuttle. The Wing Guard took the Imperials into custody and escorted them to the Security Tower. Meanwhile, the prisoners, Princess Leia Organa, Chewbacca, and C-3PO, were freed and left in Calrissian's care to escape. The Rebels and Calrissian successfully fled Cloud City, which then fell under Imperial control.

Personality and traits

Tameron was characterized by his dark complexion and black hair. He was known for his serious approach to dealing with crime within Cloud City, and he remained untainted by the corruption that had infiltrated the Wing Guards during the tenure of former Baron Administrator Dominic Raynor.

Equipment

As a member of the Wing Guard, Tameron wore the standard blue uniform of the organization's guardsmen. He was armed with a Relby-k23 blaster pistol.

Behind the scenes

The first appearance of Razell Tameron was in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, although he was unnamed and portrayed by an uncredited extra. A manga adaptation of Episode V, released in 1999 by Dark Horse Comics, included Tameron's scene in its fourth issue. The comic depicts eight of the twelve guards involved in the ambush, but it is not confirmed if Tameron is among them. The character was later given a name and some backstory in 2014, along with other Wing Guards, in the Rogues Gallery feature of Star Wars Insider 148. The article was authored by Tim Veekhoven, Kevin Beentjes, and Sander de Lange. They later mentioned in a Facebook post that they had aimed to give some Wing Guards specific roles, including Tameron's position as warden. In the same post, they clarified that all Wing Guards in the article who had not been previously established as corrupt were, in fact, not corrupt and were mostly "good guys" who opposed the corruption.
