These resources were then placed under the authority of Republic officers for the duration of their service, after which they were sent back to their respective homeworlds. Following the Great Hyperspace Disaster, Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh gave Admiral Pevel Kronara the authority to assemble a fleet, operating within the framework of these treaties, to pursue the Nihil, a marauder group believed to be involved in the disaster. This action subsequently resulted in the Battle of Kur.
