The initial mention of repulsor pads in current Star Wars canon occurred during a flashback within the 2019 audio play Dooku: Jedi Lost, authored by Cavan Scott. Within the Star Wars Legends timeline, the first reference to repulsor pads appeared in "Freedom Strike Seltos," an adventure created by Bill Smith and included as part of Twin Stars of Kira, a supplementary paperback for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game released by West End Games. This publication took place in 1993.
