Rescue of Gerin Toda

In the year 15 BBY, King [Mon Julpa] (/article/mon_julpa) of Tammuz-an, along with Lord Malameu Toda's forces, successfully liberated Toda's daughter, Gerin, from the clutches of pirate Gir Kybo Ren-Cha. Ren-Cha had seized Gerin as a hostage during his escape from Tammuz-an, following the Battle of Tammuz-an where he and his crew were initially apprehended. After fleeing to the bog moon of Bogden, the captain intended to use Gerin as a bargaining chip to secure the freedom of his crew and the return of his ship, the Dianoga. To accomplish Gerin's rescue, Mon Julpa sent Jann Tosh, Jessica Meade, and the droids C-3PO and R2-D2; however, upon their arrival, they faced an assault from a group of sungwas. Upon hearing of the failed rescue attempt, Toda proposed an exchange: Julpa and Ren's captured crew in return for Gerin's freedom. However, Toda, accompanied by a number of his guards, secretly boarded the Dianoga, ambushing Ren, capturing him, and ensuring Gerin's safe return.
