Retrorockets, alternatively called retro thrusters, represented a rocket variety utilized on starships for operations within an atmosphere, appearing on vessels such as the Tribunal, the Millennium Falcon, and the Razor Crest. The _Venator_-class Star Destroyer Tribunal, in 19 BBY, while traveling from Mandalore headed to Coruscant, was plunged into turmoil due to the carrying out of Order 66. Amidst the conflict, the ship was forced out of hyperspace when Maul, a rogue Sith Lord who had previously been held captive, sabotaged its hyperdrive. This action sent the Star Destroyer hurtling toward a nearby moon on a crash trajectory. As the crippled ship descended into the moon's atmosphere, a command was issued by a bridge officer to activate the retrorockets, but the response indicated a loss of lateral control just before the bridge suffered a catastrophic explosion.
