Ric Farazi, a Zeltron reporter of female gender, journeyed to Dalna (planet) to delve into the mysteries surrounding the Path of the Open Hand. Driven by the ambition to finally publish a story, Farazi aimed to uncover the truth about the Path's role in the Battle of Jedha. Her original plan involved residing at Lady Jara's lodging house in Ferdan; however, Marda Ro extended an invitation for her to stay within the Path compound. While there, she rapidly succumbed to a mysterious illness, eventually being discovered by Matthea Cathley, a Jedi Padawan, and Oliviah Zeveron, a Jedi Knight. Yana Ro transported the trio back to Ferdan, where Doctor Nindle examined the unconscious Farazi. He determined that she had been poisoned, drawing a connection between her situation and a young boy who had consumed food at the Path's soup kitchen. Lacking the knowledge of the specific toxin involved, Dr. Nindle was unable to prevent Farazi's death.
