The Battle of Jedha, which is also referred to as the battle on Jedha, occurred on the moon of Jedha, situated in the Mid Rim, during 382 BBY. The conflict involved the warring factions from the planets Eiram and E'ronoh, several Force-worshipping sects residing in Jedha's Holy City, the Jedi Order, and the forces of the Galactic Republic.
Following the negotiation of a cease-fire and a peace treaty between Eiram and E'ronoh, representatives from both sides received an invitation from the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic to convene at the Holy City of Jedha for the treaty's signing. However, due to persistent distrust between the planets, coupled with the outbreak of riots within the Holy City instigated by the extremist sect known as the Path of the Open Hand, the summit devolved into a battle. Eirami and E'roni forces clashed on Jedha amidst the ongoing conflict between various sects. By orchestrating the Battle of Jedha, the Path successfully portrayed the Jedi and Republic as entities that, despite promising peace to Eiram and E'ronoh, only brought about increased suffering, while the Path dedicated themselves to providing healing and solace to the wounded. According to the Path's doctrine, the Jedi and their utilization of the Force were responsible for unleashing violence upon Jedha, all while the Mother secretly manipulated events.
From 387 BBY to 382 BBY, the planets Eiram and E'ronoh, located in the Outer Rim Territories, were engaged in what was deemed a forever war. In 382 BBY, subsequent to the implementation of a preliminary cease-fire, the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order orchestrated a summit involving the leaders of both planets, aiming to bring an end to the war, particularly considering its severe repercussions on the Outer Rim. During the summit, it was determined that the war would conclude with the marriage between Prince Phan-tu Zenn of Eiram and Princess Xiri A'lbaran of E'ronoh, with the intention of ensuring lasting peace. Nevertheless, the couple and their wedding were targeted by forces seeking to prolong the war, including the terrorist organization known as the Children of E'ronoh and the cult the Path of the Open Hand, which had been actively recruiting individuals from the planets who desired to evade conscription. While the Children of E'ronoh were defeated by the heirs and their allies, the Path of the Open Hand's involvement in the assassination attempts remained concealed, as they primarily utilized proxies such as a lone assassin and Axel Greylark, the son of Chancellor Kyong Greylark.
Following the wedding, both planets resolved to proceed with the treaty. They agreed that its signing would occur at a summit held on the sacred moon of Jedha, a suggestion put forth by Jedi Knight Gella Nattai due to its reputation for peace and unity, which had always inspired her desire to visit. Chancellor Orlen Mollo expressed his wish to preside over the summit but was unable to do so due to Republic security protocols. Consequently, he appointed Morton San Tekka, a member of the esteemed hyperspace prospecting San Tekka Clan, to serve as the mediator for the proceedings, with the hope that the San Tekka clan's reputation in the Outer Rim would lend credibility to his selection and prevent the Republic from appearing to overstep its authority by appointing a Republic official. Given the extensive destruction resulting from the war, Princess A'lbaran and Prince Zenn deemed it necessary to remain on their respective planets to oversee reconstruction efforts rather than depart for the treaty signing. Instead, Ambassadors Lian Cerox of Eiram and Tintak of E'ronoh were dispatched to represent the two planets, both of whom were political figures and former military personnel instructed by the heirs to sign the treaty.
The summit was scheduled to take place in the Second Spire, an ancient temple that had undergone refurbishment. The Guardians of the Whills were granted special jurisdiction by the Republic to serve as security for the summit. However, due to lingering distrust between the two nations, both delegations arrived with substantial fleets as a demonstration of force in the event that the other party chose to reject the treaty's terms. This display created an unsettling atmosphere on a world known for its peace, and the Jedi expressed concern that it would convey the wrong message to the people of Jedha. Jedi Master Creighton Sun and Jedi Knight Aida Forte were the Jedi assigned to supervise the proceedings, with Sun specifically tasked with overseeing Ambassador Cerox and Forte assigned to attend to Ambassador Tintak. An affiliate of the Church of the Force named Keth Cerepath was sent to assist Morton San Tekka, as the Church and the San Tekka clan maintained close ties.

The presence of the two fleets in orbit exacerbated existing tensions among the various Force sects already present on Jedha. Despite efforts to alleviate these tensions through the establishment of the Convocation of the Force, the factions' divergent perspectives on Force usage created a precarious balance of power within the Holy City. Notably, the Path of the Open Hand, a cult that denounced any utilization of the Force as an abuse of the mystical power they all revered, initiated open, yet peaceful, protests against such practices, which were embraced by the majority of the other sects. The Path originated from the planet Dalna and had journeyed to Jedha as a significant undertaking aboard their flagship, the Gaze Electric. They were known for 'liberating' Force artifacts by stealing them to prevent their misuse. The cult was led by Elecia Zeveron, a purported Force prophet known as the Mother, and their Herald, Werth Plouth, who presided over their council of Elders. The Path acquired an old almshouse in the city, which they renovated and transformed into their healing house, providing treatment, assistance, and shelter to those in need. Additionally, the Path began offering their services throughout the city as 'gifts freely given'. The Path intended to petition for membership in the Convocation, an initiative spearheaded by Marda Ro with the hope of effecting genuine change and disseminating the Path's message. They had dispatched Path member Radicaz Dobbs, also known as 'Sunshine,' to announce their arrival to the Convocation earlier.
Concurrently, the Convocation of the Force had commenced planning for the Festival of Balance, which was anticipated to attract a substantial influx of tourists, thereby boosting business on Jedha. They co-opted the Season of Light for the festival, a decision that angered some sects. While many prepared for celebrations, others disapproved of the entire concept. Simultaneously, artifacts began to disappear from various sacred sites on Jedha in the weeks and months leading up to the battle. In reality, these robberies were perpetrated by Path agents who were active on the moon even before the cult's official arrival. Through these agents, the Mother was manipulating the city to serve her own purposes. Stolen artifacts were sold on the black market to finance the Path. These robberies were facilitated by a corrupt archivist, Feric Oranalli.
Vigilante and thief Tey Sirrek became aware of the robberies and arranged a meeting in the Shrine of Sarrav with a Sarravi woman named V'Kara, who possessed information about the robberies but had been ignored by the groups she had approached with her knowledge. Prior to the meeting, Sirrek attempted to pacify a heckling individual claiming to be a genuine Truthsayer by advising them to refrain from being unpleasant in anticipation of the Festival of Balance. However, the individual believed that the Convocation lacked the authority to impose their celebration upon them, a sentiment shared by many. Subsequently, Jedi Padawan Matthea Cathley, who was stationed on Jedha alongside Oliviah Zeveron, intervened in the conversation, providing Sirrek with an opportunity to pilfer an object from the irritated individual. However, Jedi Master Vildar Mac, who was accompanying Cathley, witnessed Sirrek's theft and pursued him, but Sirrek managed to evade the Jedi. Mac had recently arrived on Jedha, hoping to find himself and instigate positive change in his life, and Cathley was acquainting him with the moon and showing him around. Sirrek then proceeded to the Shrine of Sarrav to meet with V'Kara, only to discover her lifeless body on the shrine's floor.

One of the primary motivations behind the Mother's decision to support the Path's presence on Jedha was Sunshine Dobbs's revelation that the Rod of Daybreak was safeguarded in a vault controlled by the Jedi on the moon. The Rod was one in a set of three Rods, with the Rod of Seasons already in the Path's possession. These rods possessed the ability to control the species known as the Nameless, which preyed upon Force-sensitives, one of whom the Mother had acquired and named the Leveler. After a Little named Naddie encountered Jedi Master Silandra Sho in the Jedha markets, Marda Ro discussed her belief that the Jedi were dangerous, asserting that her former Jedi friend Kevmo Zink had been killed by the Leveler due to his use of the Force. Subsequently, Ro consulted with the Mother and the Herald, and the three concurred that Jedha was infested with individuals who manipulated the Force and that action was necessary. The Mother insisted that they continue to voice their concerns and revealed that the 'time of the Leveler' would soon arrive. The Herald also assured her that they would petition the Convocation imminently.
During the signing ceremony, a bomb detonated within the Holy City's Second Spire, resulting in the death of mediator Morton San Tekka. The bomb was deployed by a ceremonial droid that flew in using thrusters before detonating. The Guardians of the Whills and the Jedi promptly took action to locate survivors and evacuate the spire. Keth Cerepath rushed in and discovered his charge's lifeless body, requiring solace from the Jedi. He also disclosed that he had brought his ceremonial droid P3-7A to the spire and that he couldn't locate it amidst the destruction, leading the Jedi to speculate that his droid was responsible for detonating the bomb. Uncertainty surrounding the bomber's identity was compounded by conflicting accounts from various sources, each claiming to have witnessed a different individual conversing with the bomber droid beforehand, implicating representatives from the warring planets, the diverse sects, and even the Jedi themselves. Later, as the Ambassadors were being escorted back to the spire, Cerox's quarters and Tintak's shuttle were bombed. Additional incidents threatened to escalate tensions within the city. In an attempt to salvage the summit, Republic Chairperson Meldan appointed Tilson Graf to succeed San Tekka as mediator. Unbeknownst to all, Graf was an agent of the Mother.

Following the bombing, Creighton Sun approached his friend Jedi Master Silandra Sho, who was present on Jedha for the Season of Light and was assisting in tending to the injured from the bombing. He requested that she investigate the bombing, as he suspected that it was orchestrated by an external force rather than Eiram or E'ronoh, but he needed someone impartial and unconnected to the proceedings to conduct the investigation. At Creighton's suggestion, she initially sought to speak with Keth Cerepath in the Church of the Force's sector of the Temple of the Kyber, as he had been assigned to attend to Morton San Tekka and his droid had suspiciously disappeared during the bombing. However, Cerepath informed her that his droid had returned and, therefore, could not have been the one that detonated itself in the bombing. She eventually decided to enlist Cerepath as her guide, given his familiarity with Jedha, as she investigated the various individuals and sects on the moon. After conversing with several members of the skull mask-wearing dark side sect known as the Brotherhood of the Ninth Door, who had caused a panic due to a backfiring speeder bike that sounded like an explosion. Secretly, the Brotherhood was collaborating with Graf, who had recruited them on the Mother's orders. The first sect Cerepath and Sho visited was the Path of the Open Hand in their healing house. The patients of the Path who had been present for the bombing each claimed that they a had seen different person speaking with the ceremonial droid before the bombing, leaving Sho and Cerepath more confused after they left.
In the aftermath of the bombing, the Path of the Open Hand was among the first religious sects to arrive at the spire to provide assistance, treating individuals on-site and transporting them to the Healing House. On that day, Path Little Naddie encountered a wargaran confined in a cage by a wargaran keeper, who had brought it for display at the Festival of Balance. Believing that the creature, which she was told could hunt with the Force and was connected to it, should be free like the Force, she released the creatures. However, the creatures attacked her and descended upon the city, attacking and killing many civilians. The Mother and Marda Ro organized the Path to round up all of the creatures and help those hurt, leading to the Path being hailed as heroes. Naddie's actions and their result, inspired the Mother and caused her to plan for something to elevate the Path involving the Leveler.

Jedi Vildar Mac and Matthea Cathley eventually managed to speak with Tey Sirrek in Enlightenment, where he elucidated the missing objects across the moon and the unfolding events. However, upon discovering a kyber starbird illegally for sale, an artifact from the Temple of Kyber, Sirrek realized that something far more significant was transpiring on Jedha and, accompanied by the Jedi, headed to the Temple to confer with the Guardians of the Whills. Before they could engage in peaceful dialogue, Sirrek and the two Jedi were confronted forcefully by the Guardians. The Guardians revealed that Sirrek was a treacherous former Guardian, prompting him to depart in frustration, while the Guardians ushered the Jedi inside. Archivist Zumeg expressed gratitude to the Jedi for bringing the missing artifacts to their attention but asserted that no one could have pilfered from the temple. However, their claim was swiftly disproven when they discovered that the Firebird of Colsassa, the relic Sirrek had located, was missing. The Archivists and Guardians attempted to place blame on Sirrek, but the Jedi found it illogical that he would steal it. Sirrek surreptitiously entered and located the area where the Jedi were conversing with the Archivists, where he noticed a concealed explosive and retrieved it. Mac sensed a disturbance in the Force and discovered Sirrek holding the explosive, using the Force to remove it, but not before it detonated, causing damage to the side of the temple.
When Creighton consulted Gella Nattai via holo to determine who might have desired the continuation of the war, she revealed her suspicion that Axel Greylark had collaborated with the Path of the Open Hand in his attempts to obstruct the peace process and the wedding of the heirs. Creighton relayed this information to Silandra, who decided to revisit the Healing House and speak with the Mother to solicit her perspective on the matter. Upon her arrival, the Herald and others initially rejected her presence, but the Mother permitted her and Cerepath to speak with her in her chambers. However, being in the chambers made Sho ill and unsteady, as the Leveler nearby but unseen had an awful effect on her. She inquired whether the Path had any involvement in the bombings, which the Mother vehemently denied, before their conversation became tense and argumentative. Sho cautioned her against lying, which the Mother perceived as a threat, prompting her to order them to leave. Subsequently, Sho felt so unwell that Cerepath escorted her to Enlightenment to recuperate with food and drink.

Subsequently, the Herald of the Path of the Open Hand, accompanied by Marda's cousin Yana Ro and Sunshine Dobbs, proceeded to the Convocation Chambers to petition the Convocation on behalf of the Path of the Open Hand. He implored the Convocation to prohibit all use of the Force, citing his belief that it harmed it. Following their outright rejection of the idea, he then requested a temporary ban, as well as the Path's inclusion in the Convocation until they could substantiate their claims. The Convocation rejected this as well, and the Path members then removed themselves from the Chamber.
Meanwhile, Master Sho and Cerepath departed Enlightenment after Sho recovered due to having soup, but were attacked by an individual on a speeder that shot at them. Sho deflected the blasts with her shield and kept Keth safe, before attempting to chase after the assailant. However, the attacker shot at the civilians and tried to plow through them, forcing Sho to protect the citizens but losing the speeder because of it. Having been separated from Cerepath, but having used his droid P3-7A to try and chase the assailant, Sho found herself in the central square, where the Herald was speaking to a crowd.

The Herald stood outside the Convocation chambers in the city's central square, the Square of the Supplicants, delivering a speech to a gathering of people against the Convocation and the Jedi, under the guise that he had been treated unfairly. By exploiting the crowd's distrust of both each other and the Convocation, he incited them into an angry mob. He also revealed that he had overheard in the Convocation chambers that the bombing of the Temple of the Kyle's was a deliberate attack, but that the Convocation were going to cover it up and claim it was an accident. At his direction, Yana Ro then secretly unleashed a creature known as the Leveler, a member of the Nameless species, upon the crowd. Simultaneously, Convocation member and member of the Sorcerers of Tund Tarna Miak emerged from the Convocation Chambers and demanded that the Herald cease his actions, but the Herald used it as proof of the Convocation attempting to silence him and lying. Miak called on the Guardians of the Whills who tackled the Herald, as he continued to incense the soon-to-be riotous crowd.
The Leveler caused the Force-sensitives in the crowd, which was on the verge of turning violent, to have their minds warped and filled with fearful visions, rendering them unable to distinguish between reality and illusion. Confused and frightened by the Leveler's influence, the Force users lashed out using their Force powers, alarming the crowd and triggering a riot. This included Miak, who began to unleash fire upon the crowd using the Force. The Herald's incitement of the crowd against the Convocation was part of the Mother's plan, with the scene devolving into a riot after Yana's unleashing of the Leveler being what she thought was the plan as well. Indeed, the chaos would provide them with the cover necessary to locate the Rod of Daybreak. However, the Mother would later assert that the riot against Force users was not precisely the plan they had agreed to, with only the failure of the peace accords their shared goal. Instead, she claimed that the Herald acted on his own accord and in the heat of the moment. The fighting on Jedha represented centuries of religious grievances and tension, including lingering anger towards the Jedi for their past rule over Jedha, boiling over into conflict.

The riots rapidly spread throughout the city, even reaching the Second Spire, where Eiram and E'ronoh were reconvening in the hopes of signing the treaty. As the riots reached the Spire, an individual on a speeder bike crashed through the window of the meeting chamber and fatally shot E'ronoh ambassador Tintak. Attributing blame to the Eiram delegation, based on the belief that the individual on the speeder was wearing an Eirami uniform, the E'roni attacked them. The ensuing firefight, resulting from the Eirami guards returning fire, compounded with the riots, marked the beginning of the Battle of Jedha. Ambassador Cerox withdrew her people from the Holy City and ordered her fleet in orbit to engage the E'roni forces in space and on the ground, commencing the battle.

During the firefight within the spire, Creighton Sun and Aida Forte secretly escorted Cerox out of the spire and into the streets of Jedha. They then observed E'roni military shuttles deploying forces to engage the Eirami, causing Cerox to lose all hope that the battle could be averted and peace could be achieved. As the Jedi guided her through the streets, rioters, incensed by the Herald and blaming the Jedi for the violence, began attacking them by hurling objects at the Jedi and the Ambassador, compelling them to take an alternate route to the Ambassador's shuttle. Upon reaching it, however, Cerox instructed the guard there to deploy Eiram's forces to retaliate against the E'roni. Sun pleaded with her not to, but she asserted that it was too late and that they needed to defend themselves before departing in her shuttle. The two Jedi then re-entered the grand chamber of the spire to assess the firefight, only to discover that all of the Eirami and E'roni guards and soldiers were dead. The two Jedi then split up, Sun going to use his droid B-9H0 to call for reinforcements from the Jedi and Republic on Coruscant, and Forte going to rally the Guardians of the Whills to protect the citizens of Jedha from the violence.
Meanwhile, amidst the fighting in the central square, Silandra was stalked by the Leveler after discovering that the creature had turned someone into dust and killed many others. She was rescued by Keth Cerepath's droid P3-7A, who dragged her away from the square and the creature. However, the riot raged on. Members of the Brotherhood of the Beatific Countenance began attacking others in the crowd within the crowd. After being greatly affected by the Leveler himself, Vildar Mac managed to shake himself out of it and break Tarna Miak out of the effect and talk him down as well. However, Susalee, the Lonto representative in the Convocation began attacking Master Leebon, the Jedi's representative. But Leebon fought back and allowed Mac, Cathley, and Jedi Knight Oliviah Zeveron to search for the source of the conflict.

Heavy deployments from both Eiram and E'ronoh descended upon the city, initiating an all-out war that amplified the chaos ignited by the initial riots. E'ronoh augmented their forces with weaponized mining loaders, devastating buildings, while Eiram utilized enforcer droids provided by Graf. The terrified rioters found themselves caught between the guards and droids, blurring the lines between the riots and the Eiram-E'ronoh conflict into a singular, bloody struggle. Aida Forte, aligning herself with the Guardians of the Whills, including Mesook and Selik, began systematically disabling the mining loaders. However, their sheer number led to widespread destruction. Concurrently, Creighton sought to contact Coruscant through B-9H0, eventually reaching Jedi Master Xinith Tarl and desperately pleading for assistance while explaining the dire situation. Upon securing her agreement, Sun rejoined Forte, aiding her against the opposing armies. They strategically divided their forces, with Forte and Selik targeting the E'roni and their destructive mining loaders, while Sun and Mesook confronted Eiram's enforcer droids.

In a parallel narrative, Sho encountered Cerepath anew in Enlightenment, where he lamented his oversight in leaving the window accessible during P3-7A's clandestine passage through the Second Spire's window. Recognizing P3-7A's presence at the bombing site and potential eyewitness account, Sho and Cerepath delved into his databanks. They uncovered evidence implicating a member of the Brotherhood of the Ninth Door as the individual who interacted with the ceremonial droid preceding the explosion. Kradon, the proprietor of Enlightenment and a repository of Jedha's intricate knowledge, revealed the Brothers' ability to manipulate perception, causing observers to see only their desired reality, thus elucidating the conflicting accounts. Silandra initially intended to present this evidence to Creighton and Aida, aiming to exonerate both Eiram and E'ronoh from the bombing and quell the conflict. However, upon witnessing the battle's overwhelming scale, she prioritized the protection of Jedha's citizens from the E'roni war machines. While she diverted the machines' attention, Cerepath guided the civilians to the Dome of Deliverance, a sanctuary capable of sheltering half the city's population and deflecting stray projectiles.
After successfully neutralizing numerous mining loaders, Sho journeyed to the Dome of Deliverance. There, she encountered several members of the Brotherhood of the Ninth Door, the masterminds behind the bombings and Tintak's assassination, acting under the directives of Tilson Graf and the Path of the Open Hand. They even launched an attack on Sho at Graf's behest. A fierce battle ensued within the Dome and the Kyber Mirrors beneath it, culminating in Sho defeating two of the three Brothers before Keth Cerepath made the ultimate sacrifice, saving her life and eliminating the final Brother.

Amidst the battle's chaos and accompanying riots, a colossal statue of a Jedi, known as the Final Protector, situated just outside the city, toppled—a somber omen for the moon. A group of rioters, fueled by anti-Jedi sentiment, used ropes and explosives to bring it down. Jedi Master Leebon, having observed the rioters' preparations, summoned Oliviah Zeveron for assistance, but they arrived on their speeders too late to prevent the statue's fall. Master Sun and Mesook witnessed the statue's collapse while battling Eirami droids, an event that deeply affected them both. Tragically, Mesook was subsequently killed by Eirami enforcer droids. Aware that Eirami and E'roni forces were converging on the central square, poised for a devastating clash, Sun raced to intercept them. Forte and Selkirk, having successfully neutralized the majority of the E'roni weaponized mining loaders, joined Sun in the square, hoping to avert the impending slaughter.
Exploiting the battle's confusion as cover, the Children of the Open Hand, including Yana, under the guidance of the Herald, raided various archives in pursuit of the Rod of Daybreak. However, their searches in locations such as the Dragigan Annals and Temple of the Kyber yielded no results. Following a new lead to a hidden Jedi vault beneath the Final Protector, the Children located the Rod near the fallen statue. They combined it with the Rod of Seasons to gain complete control over the Leveler. While Jedi Master Leebon fell victim to the being, the arrival of reinforcements in the form of Master Mac and Tey Sirrek thwarted their plans.
As the Eiram and E'ronoh forces converged in the square, preparing to engage each other despite the presence of the Jedi and Guardians, the reinforcements Sun had requested finally arrived: a contingent of Jedi and a platoon of Republic peacekeeping troops aboard a transport ship. Despite this, both armies prepared to open fire, only for the Jedi to deflect the blaster bolts as Sun delivered a persuasive speech, declaring the battle over and convincing many soldiers to disobey their superiors and return to their ships. Subsequently, the Republic peacekeeping force initiated an organized withdrawal of both armies.
The pirate crew led by Maz Kanata actively participated in the battle. The Jedi Padawan Sav Malagán infiltrated Kanata's crew as an undercover operative during the conflict. A Spiral-class Viz-Core Eviscerator also saw action in the battle, although shortly after the Galactic Republic petitioned for the cessation of its production and banned the starfighter model entirely.

Following the E'roni's departure, Ambassador Cerox and her people also withdrew, but she resolved to continue the fight against the E'roni, defying the wishes of the heirs. The recently restored communications system between Eiram and E'ronoh was once again destroyed, and pirates began exploiting the chaos by targeting various locations on both worlds. After securing permission from Master Yoda and Chancellor Greylark during a brief return to Coruscant, Master Sun and Forte planned a mission to Dalna to investigate and potentially neutralize the Path of the Open Hand due to their involvement in the battle. Chancellor Greylark also considered imposing a hyperspace blockade to protect the warring planets' neighboring regions from the escalating chaos. News of the battle and the Path's alleged role in instigating it quickly spread beyond the Mid Rim.
The Guardians of the Whills oversaw the restoration of order in Jedha City after the battle. Despite the religious tensions that had triggered the conflict and persisted in its aftermath, fostering only a fragile peace, the people of Jedha united in the aftermath, gathering in the main square to sing songs of unity. Despite the underlying unease, the various factions of Jedha rallied together in the spirit of rebuilding. The Guardians of the Whills assumed the lead in the rebuilding efforts, rather than the Jedi, due to fears that their involvement would exacerbate the moon's lingering anti-Jedi sentiment. The Republic Chancellors deployed several platoons of Republic peacekeeping troops to Jedha, who assisted in the clearing and rebuilding process. Master Sho visited Enlightenment days after the battle, sitting with Moona and Piralli as Kradon listened. She honored Cerepath's sacrifice by recounting the tale of his heroism and life.
The Mother expressed her displeasure with the Herald's handling of the riot, deeming it insufficiently controlled and calculated. Nevertheless, Path member Binnot Ullo eagerly anticipated the chaos that would follow the battle, believing it would provide fertile ground for the Path to flourish. Attempting to distance herself from the Herald, she attributed the violence solely to him and pledged one million zukkels, with the promise of more as needed, to the city's restoration efforts. She promptly delivered this sum to the Convocation. Meanwhile, Yana remained on Jedha to reclaim the Rod of Daybreak, securing the artifact with the assistance of Oranalli, who had recently been promoted to chief archivist and entrusted with the rod for safekeeping by the Jedi. Unwilling to abandon the father of her deceased girlfriend Kor Plouth, Yana also orchestrated the Herald's escape from imprisonment by disguising herself in a Jedi robe provided by Oranalli, who accompanied her into the Temple of the Kyber. The Herald swiftly murdered Oranalli and fled with Yana.
Meanwhile, the Path returned to Dalna, where they encountered resistance due to the Herald's role in the Jedha bloodshed. However, the Path retained a number of allies on the world, despite the resistance Marda personally experienced. Ultimately, the Path's role in reigniting the E'ronoh-Eiram war was exposed, bringing an end to the conflict as both planets united against their common enemy: Eirami and E'roni forces joined the Republic and Jedi in the final confrontation with the Path, the Battle of Dalna. Eiram and E'ronoh also pledged to provide reparations to Jedha, commencing a few months after the battle.
In 232 BBY, Maz Kanata and Sav Malagán reminisced about the Battle of Jedha and the duration of their acquaintance while examining old artifacts in Takodana Castle. They specifically recalled Malagán's master's reaction upon discovering her undercover assignment with Maz's pirate crew during the battle. Approximately 382 years after the battle, in 1 BBY, the remnants of the Protector's statue, which had fallen during the Battle of Jedha, still lay outside Jedha City. However, the city and most of the moon were destroyed in that year by the Galactic Empire using the Death Star superweapon.
The Battle of Jedha was initially referenced by name in the ninth issue of the comic series Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures, authored by Daniel José Older and published by IDW Publishing on October 6, 2021. The capitalization of "Battle" was affirmed by The High Republic: Midnight Horizon. The battle debuted in the audio drama The High Republic: The Battle of Jedha, released on January 4, 2023.
