Creighton Sun, a Jedi Master of the human male variety, existed during the period known as the High Republic Era. Known for his virtue and adherence to tradition as a Jedi, Sun was often perceived as aloof and difficult to approach.
Around 422 BBY, Creighton Sun was born. He and Porter Engle undertook a journey to Daedus via shuttle, only to be ambushed by pirates. Despite the attack, he skillfully crash-landed the vessel and engaged the attacking marauders in combat.
In 382 BBY, alongside fellow master Char-Ryl-Roy, Jedi Knight Gella Nattai, and Padawan Enya Keen, he journeyed aboard the Valiant to provide aid to the planet Eiram, then embroiled in war with E'ronoh. Following successful peace negotiations, Sun traveled with Jedi Knight Aida Forte to the sacred moon Jedha to oversee a summit intended to culminate in the signing of a treaty between the warring planets. However, the summit dissolved into the violent Battle of Jedha, where Sun commanded the Guardians of the Whills and the Jedi forces. Sun requested Jedi reinforcements and, through his actions alone, convinced the Eirami and E'roni forces to cease hostilities.
After the conflict, Sun, accompanied by Forte, journeyed to the planet Dalna to investigate the Path of the Open Hand cult, suspected of instigating the Battle of Jedha. While there, Sun, Forte, and numerous other Jedi faced an assault by the Path, resulting in the devastating Night of Sorrow. During this battle, Sun encountered creatures that fed on Force-sensitives, weakening many and causing horrific hallucinations, ultimately turning some Jedi to dust. To prevent the creatures from being exploited against the Order, he and Grand Master Yoda agreed to exclude information about them from the Jedi Archive. Following the death of her master, Char-Ryl-Roy, in the Night of Sorrow, Sun accepted Enya Keen as his Padawan.
Creighton Sun was a human male with dark-brown eyes and hair that, with time, began to show signs of graying. He was known as a Jedi Master of great virtue. His adherence to tradition contributed to his reputation for being aloof, making him difficult to get to know. However, once he opened up, he demonstrated a considerable sense of humor. He often displayed cynicism and anticipated the worst, despite his efforts to remain optimistic.
Sun wielded a crossguard lightsaber with a blue blade and carried a comlink.

Creighton Sun's debut occurred in the 2022 novel titled The High Republic: Convergence, penned by Zoraida Córdova as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic project. His design was inspired by unused concept art for Stellan Gios, created by Grant Griffin. Raphael Corkhill provided the voice for Sun in the audio drama The High Republic: The Battle of Jedha.
