The Rod of Daybreak, a Force artifact, was part of a trio of rods. It was exhibited in a museum located on the moon of Jedha during the High Republic Era, circa 382 BBY. Following the theft of the Rod of Seasons from Hynestia, another artifact in the set, the Jedi Order relocated the Rod of Daybreak from the museum to a secure vault. The Mother, the leader of the cult responsible for the initial theft, plotted with Radicaz Dobbs, a smuggler who had learned of the Rod of Daybreak's new location, to acquire the artifact after the Path of the Open Hand abandoned their original headquarters on the planet of Dalna.
The Rod of Daybreak, when combined with the Rod of Seasons, formed the Rod of Power, granting the wielder complete control over the Nameless. After the Rod of Daybreak was retrieved, and following the Path's return to Dalna and their subsequent defeat during the Night of Sorrow, Yana Ro, a member of the Path, secretly absconded with the Rod of Daybreak, concealing it from her radicalized cousin Marda Ro, who then possessed the Rod of Seasons. Years later, Marchion Ro, a descendant of Marda, embarked on a search for the rod fragments. Eventually, he discovered the Rod of Daybreak and reforged it into the Rod of Power.
