A museum existed on Jedha, a moon situated in the Mid Rim. This museum, open to pilgrims in 382 BBY, housed the Rod of Daybreak. This artifact was one of several rods—a set—used to control the Nameless creatures, beings that fed on Force-sensitives. During that year, Elecia Zeveron, the leader of the Path of the Open Hand cult seeking the Rod of Daybreak, encountered Sunshine Dobbs, a prospector, and informed him of the rumor that the rod was held within the museum. Later, when Zeveron met with Dobbs again, he told her that the Rod of Daybreak had been relocated to a vault under the control of the Jedi Order following the theft_of_the_rod_of_seasons of the Rod of Seasons—another rod from the set—from the Hynestian royal family. Dobbs was unaware that the Path had been the thief.
Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton mentioned the museum in their young-adult novel, The High Republic: Path of Deceit. The novel was released on October 4, 2022, as part of Phase II of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project. Before the novel's publication, an excerpt featuring the museum appeared on StarWars.com on September 26 of that same year.
