Leveler

The Leveler was an Acclamator-class assault ship that had been modified, serving under the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars, and captained by Gilad Pellaeon.

Characteristics

This vessel, the Leveler, was a modified version of the standard Acclamator-class assault ship. Its length was less than that of other Acclamator ships. Furthermore, it lacked the flat ventral hull typically found on these vessels and was armed with concussion missiles specifically for engaging other ships in combat. Uniquely, the Leveler was the first of its class to incorporate a hangar bay, positioned on the ship's underside, a design element later seen in warships. The Leveler was also equipped with experimental concussion missiles around 22 BBY.

History

Construction of the Leveler occurred relatively early in the Clone Wars, following the successful deployment of Acclamator-class assault ships at the Battle of Geonosis. Gilad Pellaeon held the rank of captain on this ship throughout the conflict. Several months into the war, the Leveler underwent a refit at the Kemla Yard. During this refit, it received advanced concussion missiles and was assigned the task of testing these newly developed systems. During the three-day shakedown cruise, Captain Pellaeon permitted Clone Captain CT-7567, known as "Rex", to introduce new clone troopers and Ahsoka Tano to their new vessel. After emerging in the Fath system, Pellaeon's first Lieutenant Rumahn reported a nearby CIS fleet. Pellaeon then maneuvered the Leveler closer for reconnaissance.

It deployed the clone commandos of Omega Squad to Gaftikar to assist in the overthrow of the local Separatist government. Following a refit, the vessel also saw action in the Battle of JanFathal. During the Battle of JanFathal, the Leveler's mission was to extract Republic spy Hallena Devis.

The ship participated as part of a task force that fought at Merson, but was forced to withdraw due to the Separatist forces having superior numbers.
