Rikal Stargunner

Rikal Stargunner, a Human male, served as a bodyguard for Kaeline Ungasan, a member of the Corporate Sector Authority who aspired to be a crime lord. Stargunner went with his employer when Ungasan attempted to undermine the Desilijic Hutts' dominance over the planet of Ando Prime. Ungasan established a new Podrace called the Ungasan Cross Country as a cover for an illicit mining operation, but the Podracer Ree, who was his accomplice, disappeared. Stargunner and Ungasan subsequently searched for Ree within Juaka Canyon, where they engaged in a firefight against the native Talids and a group employed by the Twi'lek named Jer Blankuna.

Biography

In the era preceding the Clone Wars, Rikal Stargunner, a Human male, was employed as a bodyguard by Kaeline Ungasan, an ambitious crime lord who held membership in the Corporate Sector Authority. Ungasan sought to challenge the financial stronghold the Desilijic Hutts maintained over the planet of Ando Prime through their Ando Overland Podracing event. Additionally, he secretly aimed to mine the valuable metal Vonium without procuring the necessary land rights or permits. To achieve this, Ungasan devised a plan to host a fresh racing competition, the Ungasan Cross Country. He enlisted the Twi'lek Podracer Ree to obtain scanning technology from Geon Justic of the Elesa Mining Union in exchange for CSA merchandise, which he then attached to Podracers to scan for Vonium deposits during the new race. Stargunner accompanied Ungasan to the town of Elesa when Ungasan journeyed there to oversee this clandestine mining endeavor, visiting the office of the Elesa Mining Union to inquire with Justic about Ree's whereabouts.

Because Ree had disappeared, Justic revealed Ree's location, Juaka Canyon, prompting Ungasan's departure. Simultaneously, a group hired by Jer Blankuna, the Hutts' Twi'lek representative on Ando Prime, was also in pursuit of Ree. Blankuna falsely claimed to the group that Ree was his missing son to conceal his true intention of uncovering Ungasan's motives for the Podrace. Within the canyon, Ungasan, Stargunner, and Ree were compelled to defend themselves against both the indigenous Talids and the group Blankuna had contracted.

Equipment

Stargunner's gear included a blaster rifle, a comlink, a datapad, padded battle armor, a field kit, as well as a vibroblade.

Behind the scenes

The character of Rikal Stargunner was originally created for the Star Wars Roleplaying Game. He made an appearance in the "Snow Job" adventure featured in Star Wars Gamer 2, authored by Daniel Kaufman and released by Wizards of the Coast in February of 2001. The storyline intentionally leaves the fate of Stargunner and his superior unresolved, placing the ultimate outcome in the hands of the players. Should Stargunner and Ungasan fail to prevail in combat, they would opt to surrender to Blankuna's group—the players themselves.
