Roasted Acklay Claws


Roasted Acklay Claws were a culinary creation involving the roasting of young acklay limbs. These predatory beasts were native to Vendaxa, a planet situated in the Expansion Region. While living acklay possessed green carapaces, the cooked claws presented a red exterior, revealing tender, white meat within. The cooked legs were presented as a cluster, still connected to a section of their tough shell, and were accompanied by sliced yellow garnish.

After a gastronomic journey across the galaxy spanning from 34 ABY to 35 ABY, Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs incorporated a Roasted Acklay Claws recipe into his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, which saw publication in 35 ABY. In this literary work, he characterized the roasted flesh within the shells as virtually dissolving upon consumption and justified the consumption of young acklay by stating that these predators would readily consume diners if given the opportunity.

Production Information

The recipe for Roasted Acklay Claws was conceived for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a culinary book authored by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe instructions for creating the claws call for Dungeness crab legs, salted butter, finely chopped garlic cloves, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, lemon pepper, parsley, and segments of lemon wedges.
