Rooks was a captain in service to the Krath during the Great Sith War; he was a male Human. In 3996 BBY, Rooks commanded a Krath patrol ship and later served on a Krath command yacht under the Krath leaders Ulic Qel-Droma, a fallen Jedi Knight who became a Sith Lord, and his lover Aleema Keto. While on the command yacht, the Tetan fleet was attacked by a Mandalorian strike force led by Mandalore the Indomitable. After the Mandalorians inflicted damage on the Tetans, Qel-Droma instructed Rooks to establish communication with the Mandalore. Rooks followed the Sith's order, creating a video connection to the Mandalore's flagship. The Mandalore then challenged Qel-Droma to a duel, which the Jedi accepted.
The first issue of the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi comic book series, written by Kevin J. Anderson and published in 1995, featured Rooks' first and only appearance. Dario Carrasco, Jr. illustrated Rooks in this appearance. Mentions of Rooks were also included in both the Star Wars Encyclopedia and The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia.
