Around the time of the Battle of Yavin, Roric Goldenfield made his home on a ranch situated near the settlement of Mos Eisley, together with his spouse, Helen Goldenfield.
In the year 1 ABY, Roric found himself in conflict with a group of pirates who had established their base nearby on Tatooine. At some point, he was able to capture some of these pirates and hold them prisoner in his basement. Following this, he departed from his residence with the goal of locating an Imperial garrison to facilitate their arrest. He entrusted his wife, Helen, with the task of guarding the captured pirates. During his absence, a spacer, who was on a quest to become the celebrated Hero of Tatooine, arrived at his home. Helen then requested that the visitor watch over the prisoners while she took a short break, and the spacer consented. During this period, the pirates attempted to convince the spacer to release them, but their pleas were rejected. The spacer then informed Helen of the pirates' escape plans. Just then, Roric returned with two Imperial dark troopers. The troopers quickly apprehended the pirates, and Roric expressed his gratitude to the unnamed spacer for safeguarding his home and his wife.
Roric Goldenfield was a character controlled by the game in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and released by LucasArts, before it was shut down on December 15, 2011. Roric Goldenfield was included in the game as part of the "Hero of Tatooine" questline, introduced with "Publish 9" on June 29, 2004.
Due to Roric Goldenfield being generated using the standard "commoner_human_male" template, his visual appearance was randomly selected from one of twelve possible options. However, he was always depicted as a Human male.
The "Hero of Tatooine" questline was extensively overhauled with the release of "Publish 25," also known as the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005, but the "Honor" section involving the Goldenfield family remained unchanged.
