"Rust Never Sleeps," penned by Alan Moore, initially appeared in The Empire Strikes Back Monthly 156. Subsequently, it was republished with added color in Classic Star Wars: Devilworlds 2.
C-3PO and R2-D2 feign inactivity, leading a junk hauler to transport them to Ronyards, a final destination for numerous defunct or faulty droids. There, they come across Fivelines, a droid revered by numerous followers who consider Ronyards a deity. Threepio cautions Fivelines about the Empire's scheme to dismantle Ronyards for its metal resources. Regrettably, Fivelines disregards the warning and meets its end upon the arrival of an Imperial Star Destroyer. Subsequently, the droids' perceived "God" obliterates the initial stormtrooper reconnaissance team and, ultimately, the Star Destroyer itself. Official Imperial reports attribute the Star Destroyer's crash on Ronyards to a mere accident, resulting in the demise of all personnel aboard.
