RW957, a stormtrooper serving in Jerec's fleet, met his demise on Ruusan during the events of 5 ABY. His death brought an end to his service.
As a member of Patrol 341, RW957 was part of a Stormtrooper squad operating from the skimmer designated Z-19. Lieutenant Aagon, their commanding officer, proposed a diversion from their assigned duties to pursue the local bouncers. This decision led to an encounter with Rebels who sought to protect the native creatures, resulting in an attack.
Aagon gave the order to land the skimmer, and the troopers disembarked, seeking cover behind rocks. While the skimmer maneuvered to flank the Rebels, Aagon advanced with six troopers, RW957 positioned at the rear. Despite feeling secure, he was unaware of the Rebels who had silently moved behind them. The sound of fabric rustling alerted him just as an arm encircled his neck. His helmet was removed, and the glint of a blade in the moonlight was the last thing he saw before he could call for aid.
Following the team's annihilation, the Rebels concealed their bodies and either took or hid their equipment, using rocks to disguise the graves. Some days later, Jerec's forces noticed their absence, prompting the dispatch of Yun to investigate in the desert. A company of Stormtroopers and ground troops scoured the area, discovering RW957's helmet and reporting it to Yun. This discovery confirmed Yun's suspicion that Aagon had led the squad away from their designated area to hunt Bouncers.
RW957 placed a high value on his personal safety and actively sought to secure the most advantageous and secure roles within his unit. He consistently aimed to occupy the rearmost position, minimizing his exposure to potential ambushes, attacks, direct orders, or friendly fire.
RW957 makes a brief appearance in the novella Dark Forces: Jedi Knight, where his final thoughts are revealed. His helmet is later discovered, and Yun identifies it using his datapad. In the audio adaptation, the dialogue only describes the finding of his helmet, with Momo confirming its ownership based on the designation number, which is not specified. The dialogue indicates that it was "shot through by a blaster bolt," which differs from the novella's depiction of his throat being cut with a knife.
